Sign in to Google
The first step, you must Sign in to your Google account. If you don’t have a Google account, you can create new one for free.
Once you’re signed in, click on the + icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. This will take you to the Add a listing page. On this page, select Get started in the middle of the screen. You will then be asked to enter your business name and address.
Create an account in Google My Business
First, if you don't already have a free Google account, you'll need to create one. Then, sign in to Google My Business and click Start now in the top right-hand corner of the screen. On the next page, select your business type and enter your business name. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to verify your business.
Once verified, you can start managing your business information!
Tips for Using Google My Business
Here are some quick tips for using Google My Business:
- Connect with other people and pages by adding them as friends or connections. These connections may include employees, customers, suppliers, partners, media organizations or anyone else who is interested in your business.
- Manage your company details - this includes changing the address for where you're located and uploading photos to share with customers.
Search for your business
You can access your business on Google My Business by searching for your business name or location. If you're having trouble finding your business, try looking up your business category or service area.
Once you find your business, click on the listing to open it. From there, you can edit or claim your listing Easily. Click Claim my listing if this is your first time claiming your business and follow the prompts to complete a few simple steps.
If you’ve already claimed your business and are editing it, go ahead and make any necessary changes in the dashboard like adding photos or videos, updating contact information, etc.
You can also add additional services and locations through the settings tab of your account. To see how many people have viewed your profile, take a look at the Audience report in the dashboard where you'll be able to see which pages are popular among other users of Google My Business as well as which pages you've been featured on (if applicable).
Verify your account in Google My Business
Verifying your account is the first step to accessing Google My Business. To verify your account, you'll need to provide some basic information about your business, such as your business name, address, and phone number.
Once you've provided this information, you'll be able to choose how you'd like to verify your account. Google will send a verification code to the chosen method (phone or email), which you'll then enter on the verification page.
You can also share the link with someone else who has access to your company's profile so they can enter it for you. If none of these options work for you, contact us and we'll try our best to help.
Link your profiles together
Linking your profiles together helps you manage your online presence and connect with customers on multiple platforms. Plus, it can make it easier for customers to find you online. Here's how to do it:
- Go to your Google My Business page.
- Click on the profile you want to link to your business page.
- Click on the Link button in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select which Google account you would like to use (if this is a new profile) or select which existing account you would like to associate with this new profile.
- Choose whether or not this new account will be publicly associated with your business page.
- Click Add Account and follow the prompts from there! Once completed, your accounts should now be linked. You'll need to repeat these steps if you have more than one account.
- After linking your accounts, make sure to add photos of yourself to your profile so that potential customers know who they're dealing with!
